Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislative party meeting at the party’s headquarters in Gandhinagar has concluded. The meet was held to finalise the name of the new chief minister of Gujarat after Vijay Rupani stepped down from the post on Saturday.Decision on the roles for Vijay Rupani and senior leaders would be taken by the party top brass, says Gujarat BJP chief CR Paatil.Bhupendra Patel’s work at grassroots, his hold on the cooperative sector and work with party workers, his administrative abilities, etc. were some of the factors for his appointment as state CM.” CR Paatil, Gujarat BJP president, said that only Bhupendra Patel would take an oath as CM on Monday. The rest of the ministers would be decided soon by the party top brass.In his first interaction with media after announcement of his name as the next CM of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel said that he is thankful to PM Narendra Modi, national BJP president JP Nadda and union home minister Amit Shah for their trust in him. He also said that he is glad to have blessings of former CM and current governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel with him. He said that there’s been lot of development work in Gujarat by the current government which he would take them forward to the last persons of the society.
