KISHTWAR // 29 – 7 -21 Senior Social Activist and Prominent Leader Ajeet Bhagat while expressing concern over the crisis situation created in Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban Districts of Chenab Region due to recent rains, cloud burst, floods and landslides asked the Lieutenant Governor to mobilize the administration for restoration of water, electricity and road links and provide financial assistance to the victims. Ajeet Bhagat said that three days of torrential rains in Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban Districts of chenab region have disrupted water, electricity and road systems, while crops, fruits and vegetables have also been damaged. Dozens of livestock have been killed and several residential houses have been partially damaged.
Ajeet Bhagat also expressed sorrow over the death of Seven Persons and more then twenty persons missing in a Cloud Burst,Floods in village Hanzar Tehsil Dachhan in District Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir and demanded financial assistance for the affected families. Ajeet Bhagat said that farmers and landlords have also been severely affected in Chenab Region.
Bhagat said that in these areas, Pakdandi roads have been destroyed and temporary bridges have been washed away in dozens of places. Bhagat also appealed to the administration to prepare a detailed report on the damage, urging the restoration of water, electricity and road links.
Ajeet Bhagat demanded from the Lieutenant Governor that keeping in view the plight of the farmers and landlords, financial assistance should be provided to them and repair work of Pakdandi roads and bridges in the rural areas should be started so that the people could get relief.
