DC Srinagar reviews arrangements for Ramadan

_Special control room to be set up to address public grievances _

SRINAGAR, APRIL 05: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today reviewed arrangements put in place by the district administration for the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held regarding essential services like Water supply, Power, Ration supply and sought immediate measures for ensuring these besides improving sanitation and ensuring strict check on quality and rates of essentials.

The DDC directed the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements for providing better amenities to the people and intensify market checking to keep a check on overcharging in case of daily use items.

He also asked the concerned Officers of FCS&CA to ensure an adequate supply of ration during Ramadan. PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supplies at Sehri and Iftaar.

The DC also directed the concerned department to make proper arrangement of street lights in the town and make sure that dysfunctional lights are made functional. He asked the Municipal Corporation to intensify sanitation operations and ensure cleanliness in and around the mosques and shrines.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Athar Amir Khan, SSP Headquarters Srinagar Majid Khan, CEO Muslim Waqf Board Srinagar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, SSP Traffic City, SDM East/ West Srinagar, S.Es of PWD (R&B), Jal Shakti and KPDCL, besides other officers from FCS&CA, Health, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, SRTC, Poultry development and Legal Metrology.
DC also issued directions for setting up of a dedicated control Room to address any public grievances related to basic amenities during the Holy Month. The meeting was also attended by Intizamia committees of several Mosques in Srinagar who gave their valuable suggestions for hassle free availability of essentials during the month.(The Awam News)
