India test-fires nuclear-capable missile as hostilities grow with China

The missile allegedly has the capability to reach anywhere in China, but India reiterates it is committed to “no first use.”

The Agni-V missile landed in the Bay of Bengal with “a very high degree of accuracy” and has a range of 3,125 miles, a govt statement said.

Tensions between China and India flared in 2020 in a disputed border area in the mountainous Ladakh region, which involved clashes between the countries’ militaries.
