One dead as dengue cases rise in J&K
Jammu :- As the cases of Dengue swell in Jammu and Kashmir, it has reported the first death case due to it.
According to sources, demised worked as a security guard in Sunderbani. He was admitted in Government Medical College Jammu for treatment and shifted to a Hospital in Punjab for advanced treatment. However, he couldn’t survive for long.
Around 62 new cases have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir UT this month. “With the covid pandemic, the rising cases of dengue is a worry. 84 people have been diagnosed for dengue so far and most of them belong to Jammu district.” an official said
“Jammu, Kathua and Samba are the most affected districts in Jammu division. Last year only 37 cases were registered while this year the number is more than double.” He added
About 9 cases from Samba, 3 from Kathua, 2 from Udhampur, 3 from Reasi, 3 from Rajouri, 1 from Poonch, 1 from Doda and 1 from Kashmir have been reported in the recent times (The Awam News)
