Plantation drive launched by Social Forestry Poonch.


Social forestry division Poonch of the state forests department has decided to make Poonch greener for this Plantation drive launched by social forestry department poonch through District and Session judge and ,D. F. O social forestry Nivid Iqbal, Range officer social forestry Ch Mohd Hussain ,Block Officer Social Forestry Mir Hussain Shah with staff participated. A campaign of massive tree plantation taken up where Session Judge Poonch planted tree at Pahari Hostel Poonch and said that as a part of this event there would be massive tree plantation in the District.
Also there would be plantation along the rivers and to begin with area near the river will be taken up as these places have huge potential.

The purpose of the plantation drive was to make Poonch green and beautify the landscape to clean up the environment and make it dust free.
Where as DFO Social forestry Nivid Iqbal planted ceremonial tree at Police post khari and Govt High School Khari Poonch and said that plants should be loved like children and cared for in the same manner like parents take care of their children”.
As after some years, these plants will become big trees, which are of immense benefit to mankind and our environment,” he said.
“In order to promote social forestry, the youth throughout the district should be associated to forestation plans,’ he said.
Moreover DFO Social Forestry Division Poonch expressed that people from every walk of life should realize their responsibilities and come forward to take part in the drive and district administration would facilitate them so that the district’s eco-friendly environment could be developed. He hoped that the government could touch the task of planting trees in the district with cooperation of people belonging to all walks of life of district . He called upon the school heads, NGOs and others to initiate the activity in their respective localities by ensuring participation of youth and people from different walks of life by planting at least a single plant individually as it is the national responsibility of every citizen.
The function was started with plantation of a ceremonial tree sapling by Session Judge Poonch who appreciated the role of Social Forestry Department in increasing the green cover of the District for a clean and healthy environment.
Moreover Range Officer thanked all the officers and staff members for participating and making it a successful program.(The Awam News)
