Jammu: Doctors at Ankur Maitrika Super Multi speciality hospital in Jammu have informed that health condition of senior IAS officer Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary is stable with vital parameters back to normal and he is being discharged in a day.
The Chief Executive Officer of Mission Youth and Secretary to the Government, Department of Tribal Affairs had suffered a myocardial infraction on Tuesday night following which he was rushed to the hospital.
As per a handout from the management of Ankur Maitrika Multi-specialty hospital, Dr Choudhary was admitted at their hospital on late evening of May 18, with suspected heart attack.
He was initially attended by Dr Nasir Ali Choudhary and an ECG was done immediately that showed some significant changes in inferior leads. “His cardio biomarkers were also raised” the hospital handout said.
The hospital further said that an urgent coronary angiography was done in the middle of night by the team of senior Interventional Cardiologist and Head of the Department of Cardiology, Dr Neeraj Mahajan, assissted by Dr Nasir Ali Choudhary, that revealed normal coronary (likely recanalised coronaries).
The anaesthesia support was provided by Critical Care specialist and senior Anasthetist, Dr Rohit Gupta and his team, the hospital said.
Dr Shahid Choudhary was kept under close observation and recovered well. He is being discharged from the hospital on May 22, the Ankur Maitrika management said.
“The heart attack is generally due to blockade of some of the arteries supplying the heart muscles, and to have normal arteries after heart attack is quite a rare phenomenon”, explained Dr Mahajan. He said,
“God was really kind to Dr Shahid who had this rare phenomenon of recanalised arteries”.
