Within ten days second sacrilegious activity has been reported today in the Kotranka sub-district of Rajouri district.
The police acting swiftly have booked unidentified accused under sections 295 and 153-A IPC for desecration of the Holy Book and started investigation.
Sheema Nabi Qasba, SSP has appealed to all the stakeholders to maintain calm and peace.
Islamic Welfare Organisation, headed by Shafqat Mir, has expressed deep anguish over the incident and urged both civil and police administration to take stern action against those involved.
Mir has also appealed to the people of the district not to be misled and urged them to maintain peace and brotherhood at any cost.
“We are in constant touch with the police and civil administration and they assured that whosoever involved in the act would not be spared” said Mir.“The act was aimed to divide society and it should be seriously looked into by the police and the investigation must be taken to the conclusion exposing the anti-social elements behind the act which could have triggered communal violence across J&K,” said Zulfikar.

Incidents that are pre-planned to exploit the emotions of the people against each other.
“District, as well as Kotranka sub-district administration should immediately identify the anti-social elements and take stern legal action against them. Those attempting to disturbing peace in the region should be booked under Public Safety Act,” said Moulana Hafiz Mohd, chairman Jamia Zia Ul Islam (Manjakot).
He has appealed to the youth of the area to maintain peace and cooperate with the police to trace the culprits.
Dr. Anwar Shah, Dr Iqbal; Samreen Khan, Sarpanch Manjakot, and others have also condemned the sacrilegious act and have demanded stern action against the culprits and also appealed to the people of Kotranka and Budhal to maintain peace & brotherhood.
Meanwhile, Rajouri District Administration has slapped Public Safety Act against those involved in the sacrilegious act committed by them on May 14 in a village under the jurisdiction of Budhal police station.(the Awam News)
